Cathy Gore

Biographical Sketch

Photographer

Twenty-five years of involvement in arts and crafts has led Artist Cathy Gore to the pallet of photography. An interest in picture taking put Cathy behind the lens over fifteen years ago producing works reflecting her Southern heritage. After being sidetracked for several years, and due to the encouragement of life long friends, urging of new friends and total support of her husband, J.T., Cathy has returned to her love of photography. "Photography with a Southern Accent" has taken Cathy to Alabama, North and South Carolina, Florida and off the beaten track in her native Georgia. Her specialties include single-bloom floral, water reflections, garden paths, animals, and what only a home-grown Atlantan can refer to as "Southern scenes". "I do not consider myself a photographer. I consider myself an artist who simply uses a camera as my means of capturing my subject," says Cathy. Her work has been displayed on cable television in North Carolina, in the North Georgia mountain village of Helen, in several national arts and crafts magazines and in one woman shows at area libraries. In 2008 Cathy has participated in the Atlantic Station Market and the Decatur Artist Market. Her art has been displayed at the Carroll Street Café in the Cabbage town area of Atlanta and various art shows in the area. Cathy's photographic Inspirational book, In The Garden, is now available!
