Zi De Chen was born in 1939 in Jiangsu province of China. He discovered his gifts in painting at a young age and honed his talents by working as an art editor for a newspaper. He graduated from the Artistic Institute in Nanjing, China and then spent decades practicing his craft and researching the spirit of Chinese modern art. His skill has been well received in China and he has been awarded accordingly with various honors. His paintings have been exhibited numerous times in China and have also appeared in many magazines and newspapers.
Chen developed an individual and unique style, combining vivid tangible forms with luminous colors and prodigious skill. Using varying degrees of intensity, his brush and paint convey not only ephemeral beauty of nature, but breathe his emotions into the scenes, transforming them into an expression of his character.
Currently he is the director of the Wuxi Fine Art Research Institute, a member of the Chinese Art Associate and a life-time member of the Chinese International Painting and Calligraphy Research Institution.
